Pinewood Golf Team Competes in Match at Brazells Creek

Pinewood Christian Academy’s golf team hit the greens for the 2018 golf season Thursday, March 1, at Brazells Creek Golf Course in Reidsville. Pinewood’s team consists of seniors Keaton Smith and Jackson Godbee, juniors Ty Hutson and Maylon Stanfield, and freshman Jake Shuman. Along with these five players is Parker Claxton who competes for the JV team.

The team kicked off the new season by bring home a win against Frederica Academy and Vidalia High School.  Pinewood won with a total score of 157. Frederica and Vidalia High tied for second each with a score 175.

Pinewood Patriot Ty Hutson led in scoring with a total of 37, Parker Claxton with a score of 38, Jake Shuman and Maylon Stanfield tied with 41, Jackson Godbee scored 43, and Keaton Smith scored 46.Coach Kevin Hill stated, “We’re relatively young and hope to get better through the year. They played well.”
