6th Grade Pi Day Projects

By: Matalie Miles,  PCA freshman

On Wednesday, March 14, Mrs. Alison Dekle’s 6th grade students celebrated Pi Day by creating an abstract or concrete artistic project using only circles. The students were required to use at least 20 circles, which could vary in size and be drawn or cut. The circles could be folded, rolled, and/or overlapped to create the two or three-dimensional design. They had to use some type of paper, cardstock, poster paper, foam, felt or fabric to create the circles. The students also had to locate and label the largest circle used in the project as well as measure its diameter, radius, and circumference. The students had fun while learning at the same time. All of the projects reflected each student’s individual personality and creativity.
