Pinewood elects 2023 Homecoming Representatives

By: Riley Nevil, PCA senior

Pinewood’s 51st annual Homecoming celebration is underway this week, and this year will be another one to remember. Pinewood’s Homecoming game this Friday night is against the Memorial Day Matadors.  Before the game, patriots and patrons are invited to attend the homecoming tailgate party in the Lower School gym catered by Rusty Pig.

Pinewood will welcome back their 2022 Homecoming Queen, Matti Parker, to crown the 2023 Homecoming Queen and Princess. Selected by their peers, the four seniors vying for the homecoming crown will be driven out on the field for the pre-game show to be recognized before the crowning at halftime. During halftime, the homecoming representatives will be escorted onto the field in anticipation of the crowning. The senior representatives are Ella Johns, Maddie Kent, Laci Stone, and Sydney Tippins. Representatives from grades 7-11 include juniors Genevieve Bradley, Caroline DeLoach, and Becky Edwards; sophomores Mimi Parker and Libby Kate Blocker; freshman Ava Anderson; eighth grader Ever Downs, and seventh grader Bonnie Blocker. Penelope Tarver will be this year’s flower girl and Hayden Sapp will serve as the crown bearer for the event.

Bringing the festivities to an end, the Senior Class will be hosting the homecoming dance for students in grades 7-12.

Everyone is encouraged to join the PCA family at 5:30 for the tailgate, 7:00 for the pre-game show, and 7:30 for the game for a night to remember.
