PCA Shotgun Seniors Shine; Team Faces Tough Competition in Second Meet 

Pinewood Christian Academy Shotgun team competed for the second time this season, facing 13 other school shotgun teams from across the state. The shoot was held once again at Forest City Gun Club Saturday, September18th. 

The competition was close, with only 11 clays separating PCA from the top team spot. The Patriots finished 4th overall, coming in with 919 birds. First place went to Benedictine of Savannah, who shot 930, Tattnall Square took second with a 925, and Savannah Country Day garnered third place with a 920.  

The overall scores are determined by each team’s top five shooters. This week the top five for Pinewood were Rich Pazderski, shooting 196 out of a possible 200 clays, Gabe Collins with 194/200, Miles Hendrix 183/200, Abi Pazderski 181/200, and CJ Strickland 165/200. 

In highlights of the competition, outstanding performances were given by PCA seniors Rich Pazderski and Gabe Collins. 

Pazderski earned the High Overall Award breaking, 196 birds out of 200. Rich also shot a perfect score of 100/100 on Sporting Clays, and was Top 10 overall on Trap with a 48/50. The PCA Senior also shot 25 straight on skeet and trap.  

Collins placed in the Top 5 overall (4 way tie) for HOA runner up with a score of 194/200. Gabe finished in the Top 10 in Sporting Clays 95/100, and his performance in skeet and trap earned him a spot in the Top 5 in each discipline.  The PCA Senior shot a perfect score of 50/50 in skeet, and 49/50 in trap, to include a 25 straight.  

Pinewood Junior Miles Hendrix came in on the Top 10 Skeet roster, shooting 49/50, which also included a 25 straight run during that competition.  

When speaking of his team, Coach Jarin Lewis said “We had a good solid shoot today. All these teams work extremely hard to earn a place at the top. We will keep working, improving with each shoot, aiming for another state title to bring home. Today, several of our younger kids shot their personal best and improved their scores significantly since last weekend. The PCA shotgun team has a bright future for years to come.” 

Pinewood Shotgun Team’s next competition will be held Saturday, September 25th at Baygall Sporting Clays Shooting Range in Garfield.
