Mrs. Miller’s Sophomore Class Presents Alchemy Boxes

By: Emiley Phillips, PCA junior

Mrs. Angie Miller’s tenth grade Honors English II class presented their alchemy boxes November 15-17th. The class has been reading and learning about the famous Shakespearian play, “Julius Caesar”. Mrs. Miller instructed her students to make an alchemy box that would represent their understanding of the play. The alchemy box was to be filled with 14 items that represented parts of the plot, setting, characters, atmosphere, and mood of the play. Students decorated the sides of their boxes with symbols that represented the play’s themes. Students included four character sketches reflecting on the essence of the most important characters as well as a paper that described the items in their box. The students had a lot of fun presenting their alchemy boxes and the items inside.
