Wee Cheer at Pinewood

Peace, Love, and Victory in Jesus: Wee Cheer Week at Pinewood
This past week, Pinewood’s varsity and middle school cheerleaders and coaches hosted eighty precious young girls for the annual Wee Cheer week. The new cheer and wrestling facility was abuzz as these adorable cheerleaders worked hard to learn a cheer, a chant, and a dance. With such an incredible turnout, the cheer coaches divided the wee cheerleaders into groups to teach the material and play fun games. This year’s theme is “Peace, Love, and Victory in Jesus,” as displayed on their t-shirts. Along with learning cheers and chants, the participants heard a devotion each day that incorporated one of the key words: peace, love, and victory. The focus verse for the week was, “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ,” from 1 Corinthians 15:57. A highlight for these young girls was watching as the varsity and middle school cheerleaders demonstrated their stunting skills, giving them a glimpse of what they may one day accomplish themselves. Wee Cheer week is such a special time for these little ones. Because of this experience, many of these wee cheerleaders will grow up to represent their school with pride as cheerleaders on the sidelines. The Pinewood cheer coaches and cheerleaders would love to thank all the parents and participants for such a wonderful week. With eighty potential cheerleaders in the making, the future of Pinewood Cheer is bright!
