Third grade harvest their winter snacks

By Nola Rushing, PCA junior

The Pinewood Christian Academy third graders harvested their winter garden with the help of their teachers, Pam Daniel, Crystal DeLoach and Nita Callaway. The students grew collard greens, mustard greens, and cabbage. They learned how to plant seeds, tend to a garden making sure it was weeded and had plenty of water, and how to harvest the plants. Once it was time for the garden harvest, the students picked their vegetables so their teachers could prepare them for a snack later in the week. The students enjoyed this hands-on learning experience planting in the garden.
