Pinewood’s Jr. Beta members support local police

By Gracie Hodges, PCA sophomore

PCA’s Jr. Beta Club recently participated in a March service project to make goody bags for our local law enforcement. Sixth through eighth grade Jr. Beta Club members donated to purchase items to fill goody bags to “Back the Blue.” This was their way of showing appreciation to our Hagan police, Claxton police, and Evans County Sheriff’s Department. Our 8th grade officers, Smith Dekle; Julia Hethcox; Hunter Dixon; and Madelyn Spacek, delivered the goody bags to the officers. “When we went to give the goody bags to the officers, it felt good to give them something to thank them for all they do for us,” said Madelyn Spacek. “It made me joyful to see how happy they were. It was a wonderful experience; one I will always remember.” The project was put together by Mrs. Allison Dekle and Mrs. Missi Elrod, and with help from parents and the Jr. Beta members, and it was a success!
