Pinewood Hosts Meet at Evans County Public Fishing Area

Thursday, September 7th, Pinewood hosted the first cross country meet of the season at the Evans County Public Fishing Area. The JV girls ran a 1.5 mile course and were led by Lilly Griffin in 1st place with a time of 12:27. The PCA runners who followed her were Riley Nevil 8th (14:16), Ella Johns 10th (14:35), Mary Lucy Dasher 11th (14:36), Alana Weitman 13th (15:34), Abi Pazderski 14th (15:41), Jena Hales 15th (16:08), Emma Strickland 17th (16:33), and Karry Cowart 18th (19:23). The girls placed 2nd in the competition behind Bulloch Academy.

The JV boys also ran a 1.5 mile course. The PCA boys were led by Truett Roundtree, who placed 4th with a time of 11:06. The runners following him were Jax Lewis 9th (11:47), Brandon Manville 12th (14:13), Joseph Eason 13th (14:36), Ben Wilbanks 15th (15:25), and Liam Porter 20th (18:01). The Boys placed 2nd in the competition.

In the Varsity girls run of the 3.1 mile course, Pinewood had three girls place in the top 10. Emily Griffin 3rd (25:18), Matalie Miles 7th (27:07), and Carsen Kennedy 8th (27:17). The girls who followed were Anna Scott 13th (29:51), Riya Patel 14th (30:14), Madison Shaffer 16th (30:57), Ally McCall 17th (31:01), Vivian McLendon 18th (32:15), Haley Thompson 19th (32:30), Lauren Shiver 21st (33:18), and Morgan Todd 22nd (33:19). The Girls team placed 3rd in the competition.

The varsity boys ran the 3.1 mile course with one runner in the top ten, and five more in the top twenty. The running order was Brantley Swindell 4th (20:16), Jackson Godbee 12th (22:30), Trey Kennedy 13th (22:34), Nathan Scott 14th (22:57), Nick Strickland 15th (23:27), Haden Belding 18th (24:15), William Collins 24th (27:21), Tal Godwin 29th (29:51), James Kicklighter 30th (30:22), Colt Bragg 31st (31:29), and Timothy Johnson 32nd (32:10).  The Pinewood boys placed 2nd overall.
