Pinewood holds Memorial Wall Dedication Ceremony

By Leah Deal, PCA Senior

On March 24th, Pinewood Christian Academy held a dedication ceremony to honor the newly built memorial wall.  The wall commemorates anyone who has passed away while attending, serving, or teaching at Pinewood. This special occasion began with Mr. L.W. Bush explaining how it was built as a way to remember loved ones who have passed on before us and how much they impacted everyone who knew them. He named each person who had a plaque dedicated in their memory.  A portion of the memorial wall is also dedicated to alumni.  Friends, classmates, or family members may purchase a plaque to place on the wall in memory of their loved one who was once a part of the Pinewood family.  Mr. Bush concluded the event by thanking those in attendance. A small reception was also catered for everyone by Ms. Cathi Willett.

Mr. Bush, PCA’s Director of Development shared, “The Memorial Wall dedication was a special time for family, friends, and classmates to gather to remember those who have passed away. The Board of Governors felt that we needed to set aside a place that was easily accessible for everyone. This wall is in remembrance of students, faculty, or staff members who passed away while attending, teaching, or working at Pinewood. The wall will also be an area where we can remember alumni of Pinewood that have also passed away.”
