Pinewood Christian Academy hosted its Junior Ring Ceremony to honor the Class of 2023 with the presentation of their class rings. Prior to the ceremony, juniors and their parents were treated to a catered meal from Bevricks at the Parker Life Center in Claxton. After the delicious meal, everyone returned to school for the much-anticipated presentation of rings.
Upon returning to campus, everyone gathered in the Eddie Durrence gymnasium for the ceremony. Mrs. Miriam Porter opened up the ceremony playing piano while the seniors and juniors walked to their seats. Following the processional, Class President Elizabeth O’Brien welcomed everyone. Secretary Audrey-Kate Smith and Treasurer Noelle Waters led the students and guests in pledges to the American and Christian flags. Thereafter the pledges, Chaplain Claire Mullis led everyone in prayer. Vice-President Julia Hethcox introduced the guest speaker, Mr. Brandon Parker, to the podium. Parker spoke on the importance of their class rings and how they will always be a symbol of the Class of 2023’s time at Pinewood. Seniors chosen by the junior class presented them with their class ring. To close the ceremony, Julia Hethcox and Claire Mullis led the singing of PCA’s Alma Mater. Everyone then enjoyed showing off their rings and taking pictures with their families and friends to mark this momentous occasion.
