PCA Football Players Dominate Trinity Academy

Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA) went head-to-head with Trinity Christian Friday, October 17, 2015, and PCA was victorious with a score of 38-9 which put them 9-0 for region. First quarter was slow until the last few minutes, but the Pinewood Patriots were fired up and made the first touchdown (TD). Blake Shuman and Will Sheffield gained first downs for the Patriots. Preston scored a TD for Pinewood, but a flag was thrown on the play which called Pinewood back. Jeffrey Young threw a fantastic pass to Cameron Dutton, and Preston Campbell ran the ball into the end zone for a Pinewood TD. Caleb Conley successfully kicked the ball through the uprights which put 7-0 on the score board. Second quarter began with a Patriot TD ran by Cameron Dutton for 75 yards. The kick by Caleb Conley was good, so the score became 14-0. Pinewood was backed up 15 yards for a penalty on face masking. John Michael Thompson intercepted the ball from a long pass thrown by the Trinity Crusaders. Blake Shuman received the pass thrown by Jeffrey Young which gained the Patriot first down. Pinewood’s third TD was scored by Blake Shuman, but the kick was not good which meant the score became 20-0. Noah Calloway had a fabulous quarter back sack for the Patriots. Caleb Shuman had a spectacular run up the middle to start off the third quarter. Blake Shuman scored his second TD for the Patriots with a 55 yard run. After Caleb Conley successfully kicked the ball, the score became 28-0. Trinity tackled the Patriots in their end zone which gave them a safety, so the score became 28-2. John Michael Thompson took a hard hit, and he rolled his ankle which put him on the bench for the rest of the game. The Trinity Crusaders scored their first TD meaning the score was 28-9. Cameron Dutton had a hard 45 yard run for the Pinewood Patriots all the way into the end zone. Caleb Conley kicked the ball accurately though the uprights putting the score at 35-9. Noah Calloway had an outstanding quarterback sack which began fourth quarter. Pinewood played hard and moved the ball almost the end zone. Fourth down and 20 to go, PCA kicked a field goal and scored. Big shout out to Will Sheffield and Cameron Dutton for playing extremely hard throughout the whole game. The ending score was 38-9 with Pinewood in the lead. Pinewood invites all students, faculty, and parents to come and support the football players at their next game on October 31 as they compete against PCA’s rival, the Bulloch Academy Gators. By:
