Three Up, Three Down for PCA

The softball team at Pinewood Christian Academy put three more in the win column as they took down Edmund Burke Academy, Effingham County, and Bulloch Academy last week. The first victory came as the Lady Patriots played host to the Lady Spartans of EBA. This was the first region game for PCA, and the Spartans did not give up easy as the game remained a stalemate until the fifth inning when junior, Shelton Rogers, laid the bunt and was brought in by senior, Maggie Greer. Raegan Waters was on the mound for the Lady Patriots and took the win 1-0.

Waters would remain on the mound the next day as the Lady Rebels of Effingham County made a trip to Bellville. The Lady Patriots would be slow to score again with no score until late in the fourth inning. Junior, Carleigh Bell, got a base hit for the first score of the game as she was brought to the plate by a double from senior, Abigail Bland. Effingham scored one at the top of the sixth inning but the Lady Patriots would answer back with three runs in the bottom of the sixth. The Lady Rebels try for a come back in the top of the seventh inning but the defense of the Lady Patriots would prove to be hard to break. The final score PCA wins 4-2.

PCA then traveled to Statesboro to take on rival Bulloch Academy and came out with their second region win 6-2 over the Lady Gators. Raegan Waters started on the mound for PCA, and Carleigh Bell came in for the close. The Lady Patriots put 12 hits up during the game and are well on their way to the goal of winning region this year. The Lady Patriots will play two region games this week. The Lady Patriots are coached by head coach Brett Lewis.
