State Wrestling Match

On February 5th and 6th, the Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA) wrestling team competed in GISA State Wrestling Championship held in Americus, Georgia on the campus of Georgia South Western. With this year (2015-16) being only the second year PCA has had a wrestling team, the team did outstandingly well. PCA 11th grade student, Matthew Floyd came in second place, 10th grade students Jobie Hartley and Joseph McGregor both came in 4th place. Last, but certainly not least, 11th grade student Christian Strickland and 9th grader Tal Godwin both came in 7th place. Coach Kevin Hill, who formerly coached the Toombs County wrestling team before coming to PCA in 2013, was extremely pleased by the Patriots’ outcome. The PCA Wrestling Team finished in the Top 10 out of 19 teams! All of the Patriot wrestlers plan to work hard and be ready to compete in the state competition again next year.
