Seventh Grade Science Projects

Last week, the seventh graders in Coach Charles Sumner’s Life Science class completed animal projects. The students drew the scientific name of an animal from a hat, identified the common name, and wrote a report on the taxonomy, behavior, and the habitat of the chosen animal along with any interesting facts that were discovered. After writing a report, the students made a poster that included an original drawing of the animal for their class presentations. Coach Sumner graded each student on their presentation skills, report, and poster, and afterwards awarded three winners from the entire grade.

Third place went to Susie DeLoach, who presented the black tip reef shark. In second place came Emi Oates, who presented the vampire bat. Finally, in first place was Korbett MacGregor, who presented the Aye-aye. Each of the students gave amazing performances for their first science project of the year.
