Seniors win PCA’s annual powderpuff tournament

The Class of 2021 hosted the 4th annual powderpuff tournament on Monday, October 28, 2019. Powderpuff gives the girls a chance to show off their ability at flag football. The boys in the class are coaches or cheerleaders. To start off, the 7th and 8th grades competed in an exhibition game, and the 8th graders clinched the win by 2 points with a score of 20-22. Next up, the seniors took down the freshman by a score of 28-0 to secure their spot in the championship game. Then, the juniors put 8 points on the board early in the first half, but the sophomores put 14 points up late in the second half to win. The sophomores also secured their spot in the championship game, but first the juniors had to play the freshman to decide 3rd and 4th place. The juniors came out ahead in 3rd place with a score of 14 – 6. The championship game started off bad for the seniors when the sophomores scored a touchdown early in the first half. The seniors answered back quickly with a touchdown and a two-point conversion to make the score 8-6. Both teams were dead locked until late in the second half when the seniors intercepted the ball. The seniors went on to score a touchdown, this touchdown secured the win for the class of 2020. The final score was 14-6 with the seniors winning their second powderpuff tournament of their high school career.
