Pinewood’s Cross Country Named GISA Region 2AAA Champions

On Monday, October 15th, the Pinewood Christian Academy cross country team competed in the GISA 2AAA Region meet at Bulloch Academy where they were named GISA Region 2AAA Champions. “As a leader in my senior year,” says William Collins, PCA senior, “it was a high school sports dream fulfilled to bring home the Region Championship trophy for the team and Coach Johns. This is something me and her have been striving to achieve for five years since the first cross country team began.”

The Patriots faced off against Bulloch Academy, Westfield, and Trinity Christian coming out on top as the region champs.  Along with the team’s solid victory, PCA Senior William Collins placed 2nd in the meet earning him the title of Region Runner-up. Collins, Trey Kennedy, and Nathan Scott also earned All-Region awards for placing in the top seven at the meet.

“I’m super proud of these young men and women for their accomplishments this season,” Coach Paula Johns shared, “Our young ladies finished third in the region with a very young team that has much potential for future growth, and our young men brought home our first region championship trophy making year number five of our program a milestone year.”
