Pinewood seniors, Morgan Blalock and Priscilla Dillon, recently played in the GIAA All-Star softball game.  They were nominated by their head coach, Brett Lewis, and then selected by other coaches throughout the state to play in this final game.

The All-Star game is an opportunity for seniors to play alongside some of the best players across the state.  Past rivals become teammates and then strangers become friends during this event as they learn teamwork lessons they can carry with them throughout life. “The All-Star game was the last softball game I will every play,” stated Blalock, “and I was fortunate enough to call players from other rival teams and schools, “friends” and “teammates” for the day.”

Dillon said, “I had a great time!” as she reflected on the game as “one final hurrah” before college ball.

Both girls are thankful for those who have invested in them as they noted how appreciative they both were to God, their parents, coaches, and teammates for the opportunities they have been given on the ball field.  Blalock said it best, “It is those people who have always believed in me and pushed me to do my best.”
