Pinewood Seniors Build Their Own Frankenstein
By: Abigail Tucker, PCA Senior
Mrs. Miller’s senior English IV and AP Literature classes were presented with the task of building their own monster. This project was based on the student’s summer reading of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.
The classes were asked to design their ideal monster, by combining cutouts and drawings of at least seven different people. Each cutout or drawing was to be described, detailing why the senior thought this would be the best body part to use in perfecting their monster. The projects were then presented in class, where students shared their creation and described the reasoning behind their choices in the different parts of the monster.
Students came up with many unique ideas. Some used the head of Albert Einstein, while others used the hands of the Hulk, or the heart of Jesus. Other monsters included the perfect antihero, the perfect Broadway star, the perfect employee based upon characters from NBC’s The Office, the perfect tribute based upon The Hunger Games novels, and the perfect Mr. Porter.
Each creation was specifically unique to the senior, and much thought was put into every detail of their personal monster.
