Pinewood Hosts their Homecoming Pep Rally
Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA) held their homecoming pep rally last Friday, September 25. The cheerleaders began by performing the fight song. Following the fight song, the homecoming representatives were recognized. The varsity cheerleaders performed their competition routine for the school and did an amazing job. For the first time, the pep rally included a “Mr. Homecoming” Pageant. The contestants for the pageant were Garrett Bland (7th grade), Eli Collins (8th grade), Maylon Stanfield (freshman), Jackson Godbee (sophomore), Kort Kennedy (junior), and Cole Woolard (senior). First the guys promenaded on the mat as if they were on a runway. After that they executed a cheerleading jump. Next they danced to the song “Watch Me Whip/Nae Nae.” The guys were then asked an on-stage question. Finally, Cole Woolard was crowned as Mr. Homecoming 2015. PCA upper school observed their annual Cheerleader Hush Day Friday as well. The varsity cheerleaders were pied if they talked during the day, and they all did! Mrs. Porter closed the pep rally by leading the students and faculty in singing the “PCA Alma Mater.”
