PCA Football Players Remain Untouchable for Homecoming

Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA) won their homecoming game again Augusta Prep for their sixth victory last Friday, September 25, 2015. Beginning the first quarter, Garlon Rogers kicked for the kickoff. The Patriots were backed up ten yards, for there was holding on the play. John Michael Thompson had an outstanding yard run for the Patriots. Augusta Prep recovered a fumble from Pinewood, and they ran for a touchdown(TD). Achieving the extra point, the score was 7-0. After kicking an onside kick, Augusta Prep regained the ball. Wes Purcell had an outstanding defense block, and the Patriots recovered the ball. Preston Campbell scored Pinewood’s first touchdown, and the kick was good making the score 7-7.

Second quarter started off with a TD for the Patriots run by Kaleb Shuman, but a flag called the boys back. Pinewood set up again, and Jeffrey Young scored another TD. Unfortunately, the Patriots were called back for a flag because of an illegal procedure. Kaleb Shuman ran the ball to the one yard line, and one last time the Patriots set up for the play. Preston Campbell managed through the defensive line of Augusta Prep for a Patriot TD. The extra point was kicked by Caleb Conley and was good. Up on the scoreboard was 14-7. Cameron Dutton made a wonderful catch and had a hard run putting him on the 15 yard line. A flag was on the play against Augusta Prep which moved the Patriots up five yards. Pinewood’s next TD was scored by Cameron Dutton. The kick for the Patriots was good, so the score was 21-7.

Third quarter started with Augusta Prep recovering a fumble from the Patriots. An Augusta Prep player was injured, and he walked off the field. Matthew Floyd regained a fumble from Augusta Prep. There were two penalties on the play. First, the Patriots were called for holding. Second, Augusta Prep was called for face masking. These penalties had offset. Kaleb Shuman had a fabulous run for Pinewood, but the Patriots had a flag on the play for holding which caused them to back up ten yards. Blake Shuman ran the ball, and Kaleb Shuman put Pinewood on the one yard line. Preston Campbell scored the Patriot’s fourth TD, and the kick was good which made the score 28-7. The clock ran out, and the Patriots had their sixth victory. Pinewood invites all fans, students, parents, and faculty to attend their next game at Edmund Burke Academy Friday, October 2, 2015.
