Friday, August 23rd, Pinewood Christian Academy hosted is first annual tailgate bash to kick off the school year.  The celebration included a prep rally for the upcoming football game against the school’s rival, Bulloch Academy, on Saturday August 24th. The purpose of the back to school bash was to promote school spirit for the school year.

The evening began as patrons visited food booths provided by each grade level which were serving anything from hot dogs to tasty desserts.  Students and their families spent time playing games and enjoying the opportunity to fellowship and welcome new families to PCA.

To bring the festivities to a close, everyone gathered in the gym for the pep rally portion of the evening and announcement of the fall sports athletes. Each individual team was able to “break through” the Pinewood football sign as the patrons cheered them on.  Headmaster Clay Hill thanked everyone for coming to support the Pinewood Patriot fall athletic teams. The night was concluded with senior football player Wade Durrence led everyone in prayer, and the Alma Mater was led by Mrs. Miriam Porter.

Director of Development for PCA, Mrs. Brittany Brannen stated, “The idea behind this bash was to generate patron participation and really pump up our school pride.  We wanted to honor all of our fall student athletes and recognize them for all of the hard work that they and their coaches have put in.  It was a wonderful night of fellowship and fun, and we are looking forward to doing it again next year.”
