Pinewood Holds Its Annual Grandparents Day Celebration

By: Erin Horton, PCA junior

Friday, March 9, Pinewood Christian Academy held its annual Grandparents Day celebration. Children in grades K-4 through 5th participated in a musical program they prepared and performed for their grandparents and families. The students sang worship songs including: “At Your Name,” “Alive,” “Love Came Down,” “Christ Is Enough For Me,” and “We Believe”.  At the conclusion of the show, grandparents and patrons were invited to the lower school gym for the art gallery showcasing student artwork created in art class throughout the year. Grandparents viewed the artwork, enjoyed refreshments, and had the opportunity to have pictures made with their grandchildren.  Students and grandparents then visited the children’s classrooms and met the teachers. During this time, grandparents received a glimpse into their grandchildren’s daily routine and class activities. Families visited the book fair held in the library to conclude the afternoon of festivities. Grandparent’s Day is a special PCA tradition, and this year’s celebration was a huge success.
