Pinewood attends state track in Albany
On April 27-29, the PCA varsity track team attended the state meet hosted by G.I.S.A at Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany. Out of the entire track team, eighteen athletes qualified to compete at the state level in Albany. The girls dominated placing fourth overall at the meet with 51.5 points, the highest placing they have gotten at state in class AAA.
Meghan Boatright placed second in discus and third in shot-put. Shelton Rogers placed second in long jump, fourth in the 200m, and third in the 100m. The girls 4 by 400 relay team placed eighth; the team consisted of Carsen Kennedy, Maddie Shaffer, Haley Thompson, and Shelton Rogers. Haley Thompson placed fourth in the 300 hurdles and fifth in the 100m hurdles. Lilly Dasher placed sixth in pole vault. Rachel Jarriel placed sixth in the two mile. Caleb Hodges placed sixth in high jump. Lake Dasher tied for third in pole vault. Matthew Floyd place seventh in shot-put.
