Pinewood’s varsity and JV cheerleading squads gathered to celebrate their annual big/little reveal. Head Coach Jerri O’Brien chose a western theme for this year’s reveal. Patriot cheerleaders showed up to the party wearing their favorite cowgirl boots, and cowgirl hats they had personalized. They also brought a matching cowgirl hat to give to their little. Each cheerleader decorated her hats with unique designs.  Featuring everything from feathers to glitter, the girls let their creative side shine.

For the big/little reveal, varsity cheerleaders pair with JV cheerleaders who they will mentor and be a “big sister” to throughout the cheer year. Each varsity girl performed the “cotton eyed Joe” dance; as a part of the dance, they presented their “little” with their personalized cowgirl hat.

The evening was full of fun activities for the girls including a mechanical bull, which was the highlight of the night. The cheerleaders took turns trying to conquer the bull. Everyone was treated to snow cones! The night concluded with the girls taking selfies and sharing in anticipation for the season to come. “It was such an exciting event to see our varsity girls dote on the JV cheerleaders. They made them feel welcome and appreciated. It was a time for our squad to bond together as one team,” shared Head Coach Jerri O’Brien.
