PCA’s Baseball Season Begins
PCA vs Bethezda 24-0
Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA) hosted their first home baseball game of the season versus the Bethesda Blazers on February 28. The Patriots had 24 runs on 11 hits in three innings. Parks Hagan’s batting average for this game was 1000 going 3 for 3. Ben Salter hit a grand slam. Salter and Bryce Butler combined, pitched for a no hitter and had 6 strikeouts.
PCA vs Tattnall 4-14
March 3, the PCA varsity baseball team traveled to Reidsville to challenge the Tattnall County High School (TCHS) Warriors. The Patriots lost with a score of 4-14 in the bottom of the sixth inning. Jacob Hendrix had 2 Runs Batted In (RBIs), and James Rogers had 1 RBI. Hendrix pitched 43 strikes, Salter pitched 30 strikes, and Butler pitched 22 strikes. Hendrix crossed home plate twice, one of which was a home run. Wes Purcell made it home one time, and Salter made it home one time as well.
