PCA Wrestling Team Named Region Runner-Up

On January 25th, Pinewood’s varsity wrestling team competed in the GISA wrestling tournament at Bulloch Academy. The team placed 2nd overall and qualified for state for the 3rd year in a row.
Several individual awards were given out in various weight classes. Senior Joseph MacGregor earned first place. Junior Tim Stoner, sophomore Bryson Heath, and freshman Ridge Vause each placed second. Senior Matthew Coe, junior Tal Godwin, sophomore Ronnie Griffin, freshman Korbett MacGregor, and eighth graders Asher Cathy and Cade Beecher all took home 3rd place wins. Eighth grader Greg Griffin earned fourth in his weight class as well. Overall, it was a very successful day with each wrestler qualifying for state.
