PCA Winter Banquet

Thursday, February 28th, Pinewood Christian Academy hosted their annual winter athletic banquet to celebrate the achievements of upper school athletes involved in cheerleading, basketball, and wrestling. It truly was a night to remember as coaches shared stories of their student athletes from throughout the season. Athletes received recognition for their outstanding successes and various contributions to each of their team’s successes. These students were honored for their athletic accomplishments, and they humbly represent their area with distinction.

Student athletes were presented letter awards as well as individual awards in each sport.  Individual awards in cheerleading included Most Improved awarded to Liliana Mercer, Heart of a Servant to MiKaley Durrence, Coach’s Award to Payton Rogers, Most Spirited to Cadence Lynn, More than a Conqueror to Elizabeth Faucet, and Most Valuable Cheerleader to Carson Rountree.

Individual awards in girls’ basketball included GISA 2AAA All-Region awards presented to Jordan Jernigan, Meghan Boatright, Abi Oates, and Ansley Howard. Boatright and Oates were also named GISA All-State award winners.

Individual awards in boys’ basketball included Best Defense earned by Maylon Stanfield, the Effort Award presented to Kane Kennedy, and Best Offense received by Ethan Duckworth. Duckworth was also presented GISA All-Region and All-State awards.
