PCA Shotgun Team Shows Good Start To Season

The Pinewood Christian Academy Shotgun team traveled to Savannah’s Forest City Gun Club for their first GISA meet of the 2021 season.  Nine teams, composed of 138 shooters, competed in Sporting Clays, Skeet and Trap.

Benedictine of Savannah took the first place team honors, with a total of 939 busted clays for the day. Pinewood’s team placed 2nd in the meet, shooting a total of 927.  Place determinations are calculated by the cumulative scores of each team’s top five shooters. PCA’s top five for this competition were Rich Pazderski,  busting 195 targets out of 200,  Gabe Collins 192/200,  Abi Pazderski 190/200, Miles Hendrix 187/200 and CJ Strickland 163/200.

The Patriots took to the sporting clay course that morning, working through 15 different stations of varying difficulty.  PCA senior Rich Pazderski led the pack with a near perfect score, hitting 99/100 birds.

The afternoon found the Patriots on the Trap and Skeet fields.

PCA sophomore and one of 4 young ladies on the squad, Abi Pazderski, shot an impressive 50/50 in skeet competition. Gabe Collins ran his first round with 25 straight. On the trap field, Rich Pazderski shot a straight 25.

When speaking of the day’s performance, PCA Shotgun team Head Coach Jarin Lewis said, ” I thought today was the best showing of our team as a whole that I have seen yet. Great showing from my veterans as always.  We also had some rising stars impress in a big way! As for our first year team members, all I can say is I’m so impressed with every single one.”

The Patriots will next compete in Savannah at the Forest City Gun Club on Sept. 18th.
