PCA Seniors Create Alchemy Boxes

By: Britton Waters, PCA Senior

Over the past few weeks, seniors in Mrs. Angie Miller’s English and Honors English IV classes have studied one of William Shakespeare’s most famous tragedies, Macbeth.  In order to give the students a deeper understanding of the play, they were assigned to make an alchemy box.  The boxes contained items to represent the plot, setting, and characters while the outside was decorated to represent the main themes of the play.  Students also wrote analysis essays for three main characters to reflect their understanding of the character’s personality, motivations, and involvement in the play.  Once completed, students presented the box and its contents to the class along with explaining why they chose each item.
