PCA Senior Beta Club competes at Convention

January 22nd– 24th, the Pinewood Senior Beta Club attended the Georgia State Beta Convention held at the Savannah Convention Center in Savannah, Georgia. Over eighty PCA students in grades 9-12 competed at Convention. Students from across the state participated in various competitions focusing on academics and the arts. Many PCA students placed in their area of competition.

1st place: Woodworking Division 2 – Bryson Heath

2nd place: 3D design – Smith Dekle and Julia Hethcox

3rd place: Poetry Division 2 – Aaron Lyons; Campaign Skit – Aaron Lyons, Hannah Rice, Sydney Strickland, Wade Durrence, Annabelle Brannen, Ronnie Griffin, Mallory Sessions and Forrest Johns

4th place: Service Learning Showcase – Sydney Strickland, Chandler Driggers and Ella Anderson; Woodworking Division 1 (9th and 10th grade) – Gabriel Edwards; Sculpture Division 1 – Claire Miller; Sculpture Division 2 (11th and 12th grade) – Bryson Heath

5th place: Apparel Design – Emily Thompson, Laine Bradley, Malaree Dasher and Annie Glisson; Agri-Science – Truett Rountree; Character Performance – Aaron Lyons, Sydney Strickland and Claire Mullis

Junior Riya Patel ran for Georgia Senior Beta State Vice-President and received runner-up. Riya has been given an opportunity to attend the National Beta Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. in July. Students who received an award at convention have qualified to compete at the National Beta Convention in June in Fort Worth, Texas. Congratulations to PCA Senior Beta for these outstanding achievements.
