PCA “Pinks Out”
The softball team at Pinewood Christian Academy PCA hosted a “Pink Out” game on October 5th. The Lady Patriots started a fund raising rally selling t-shirts throughout the school. Both teams were pinked out in jerseys designed for the game. A ceremony was held before the game, and carnations were given in honor and memory of those whose lives have been touched by this terrible disease. Survivor, Janet Pirkle, delivered the game’s opening pitch, and the two rival teams went to work. A cake raffle was held, and pink snow cones were sold. The “Pink Out” game was a success all the way around. The Lady Patriots were able to raise $2500.00. The team presented a check to both Tattnall and Evans County C.A.R.E.S.
