PCA Hosts Tree Lighting Event

By: Matalie Miles, PCA Senior

Pinewood hosted a tree lighting event on November 30 for students and families to celebrate the upcoming holiday season and look forward to a merry Christmas. The picnic area under the old live oak tree was decorated to celebrate the season with wood slices as ornaments. Each grade level, as well as the library and office staff, decorated an ornament to hang on the tree.

The evening consisted of festivities including a hot chocolate stand, Christmas caroling, and a special visit from Santa Claus. Coach Hill read The Night Before Christmas and Mr. Tab Smith shared the Christmas story from the Gospel of Luke with the crowd before Santa made his entrance in a fire truck. The children waited in line to tell Santa their Christmas wishes and take a photo while enjoying Christmas music and the company of loved ones. The night came to a close with joyful smiles and full hearts.
