PCA Hosts Area Spelling Bee

On Wednesday, April 27, 2016, Pinewood Christian Academy hosted the area spelling bee for the first time. There were nine schools that participated in this spelling bee including David Emmanuel Academy, John Hancock Academy, Robert Toombs Christian Academy, First Presbyterian Christian Academy, Briarwood Academy, Citizens Christian Academy, Twiggs Academy, and PCA. Two students from each grade participated in the spelling bee for a total of 24 PCA students. From PCA, 10th grader Milligan Williams placed third in her division, ninth grader Britton Waters placed first in her division, eighth grader Vivian McClendon placed first in her division, seventh grader Riya Patel placed second on her division, third grader Genevieve Bradley placed second in her division, and first grader Tyler Trimm placed second in his division. Each student placing first was also rewarded a $20 gift card to Books-A-Million. The spelling bee was a great success.
