PCA Chorus Visits Glenvue Nursing Home
By Sydney Strickland, PCA sophomore
On December 7, Pinewood Christian Academy’s Chorus performed for the residents of Glenvue Nursing Home in Glennville. Led by Glennville resident and chorus director, Miriam Porter, the students sang seven songs, which included “Autumn Leaves”, “Old Fashioned Love Song”, and “Angels We Have Heard on High”. The chorus closed with “May the Road Rise”, the traditional ending song since 2012, when Porter began consistently directing chorus. PCA senior, Marley Kennedy, shared,” It is always fun to perform for others and see smiles on their faces.” Anabelle Brannen, a sophomore, added that being able to participate in chorus is such a fun opportunity. The students ended their day with a delicious meal at Porter’s home cooked by her daughter, Elizabeth Porter.
