Jenna Sikes Wins Peace Poster Contest

By:  Sydney Strickland, PCA sophomore

On November 2, 11-year-old Jenna Sikes, a sixth grader at Pinewood Christian Academy, discovered that she was selected as the Bellville Lions Club winner of the Lions Club International Peace Poster Contest. Sikes, daughter of Rusty and Jennifer Smith of Claxton and Jeffery Sikes of Metter, was very thrilled to hear she had won. “I was shocked but excited.” Jenna states. Sikes says that art is one of her favorite subjects in school. Her art teacher, Mrs. Mondie Gagliardo, calls Jenna a good and talented artist. “She has such a good imagination, and her poster stood out from everyone else’s. She followed the theme of the contest really well, and her peace poster was warm and well thought out”, shared Gagliardo.  On December 6, Sikes also found out she placed third in the district competition of the contest. We would like to congratulate Jenna for receiving these honors.
