PCA boys’ basketball splits wins

PCA vs. Memorial

On January 11th, the Patriots traveled to Savannah to play Memorial Day School.  Both teams played hard in a close contest with PCA remaining in the lead for the first half, but Memorial pulled ahead right at the end to steal the win with a score of 60-63.

Jade Bradley led in scoring with 12 points. David Friedberg and Mic Wasson both followed with 9, Nathan Scott with 7, John Marshall Headrick 6, and Luke Scott 5.

PCA vs. RTCA

On January 14th, the Patriots traveled to Lyons to play Robert Toombs Christian Academy. The Patriots had a strong first half but the Crusaders surged ahead in the third quarter leading to an ultimate score of 53-64.

Wasson led in scoring with 17, Friedberg followed with 16, N. Scott 7, Bradley 6, Jacob Sikes 4, L. Scott 2, and Dylan Williams 1.

PCA vs. Westfield:

 

On January 17th, the Patriots found their groove as they hosted the Westfield Hornets and gained their first win of the week.  Westfield followed with only a 9-point deficient at the half; however, Pinewood maintained their momentum in the second half and pulled ahead for the win with a final score of 56-33.

  1. Scott and Sikes led in scoring with 10. L. Scott followed with 9, Bradley and Wasson 8, Friedberg 6, and Headrick with 5.

PCA vs. BA:

 

On January 21st, the Patriots traveled to Statesboro to battle their rival, Bulloch Academy. The players took the court determined to end their four-year losing streak against the BA Gators. The Patriots began the 2nd half with a lead of 9 points and never slowed.  Despite BA’s attempt to overcome PCA with 21 points scored in the 4th, they failed to steal the win as the Patriots shut them down for a final score of 47-45.

Wasson led the Patriots with 16 points followed by N. Scott with 10.  Friedberg then followed with 7 points, Headrick with 6, L. Scott 5, and Bradley 3.

PCA vs. Frederica:

 

On January 24th, the Patriots traveled to St. Simons to take on the Frederica Academy (FA) Knights.  In an intense battle to the end, the Patriots persevered to defend their lead and claim the win with a score of 51-46.

Wasson led the Patriots with 16 points followed by L. Scott with 10.  Friedberg then followed with 9 points, Headrick with 6, Sikes and Bradley 4, and N. Scott 2.

PCA vs. CHS:

 

On January 25th, the Patriots played the Claxton Tigers in the CHS gym.  The first quarter began with what appeared to be pretty even play but the Patriots lost traction to finish with a loss of 47-61.

Wasson led PCA with 13 points followed by N. Scott with 9. Bradley and Sikes claimed 8 points followed by Williams with 3.  L. Scott, Landon DeLoach, Evan Belding each had 2.
