PCA 3rd Graders Visit UGA Marine Education Center

By: Brayden Gravley, PCA sophomore

The 3rd grade students of Pinewood recently enjoyed an island getaway field trip to the UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium. Here they learned about the many different species of fish and marine life off Georgia’s coast. These students were also lucky enough to get to touch some of the animals they were educated on.

Once students finished their aquarium adventure, they got the opportunity to hike a nature trail and boardwalk to further observe the animal life surrounding local beaches. After their hike, the field trip ended with relaxing picnic lunch.

Overall their favorite experience was getting to touch all of the marine life, but students also loved the scavenger hunt and walking down to the pier. Students would like to thank their teachers, Mrs. Daniel and Mrs. DeLoach, for taking them on this exciting field trip to learn more about the coastal region and its many interesting inhabitants.
