Patriots Compete at State Track Meet

On the 26th of April, Pinewood’s track and field state qualifying athletes traveled to Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany to compete in the GISA State track meet. The athletes who placed in the meet were:

Shelton Rogers: 3rd in the 100 meter dash (12.73 seconds), 3rd in the 400 meter dash (59.34 seconds), 3rd in long jump (16’5”)

Presley Godbee: 5th in the 200 meter dash (27.98 seconds)

Emily Griffin: 14th in the 1600 meter run (6 minutes and 27 seconds)

Matalie Miles: 14th in the 3200 meter run (15 minutes and 4 seconds)

Haley Thompson: 5th in 100 meter hurdles (17.17 seconds), 2nd in 300 meter hurdles (49.47 seconds), 3rd in high jump (4’8”)

Lilly Dasher: 6th in pole vault (6’6”)

Jordan Jernigan: 6th in triple jump (30’10”)

Ally McCall: 7th in triple jump (30’8”)

Meghan Boatright:  4th in shot put (32’7.25”), and state champion in discus (98’3”)

Ally McCall, Shelby Dollar, Presley Godbee, and Shelton Rogers: 2nd in the 4×100 meter relay (51.61 seconds)

Shelton Rogers, Haley Thompson, Madison Shaffer, and Sarah Whiten: 6th in the 4×400 meter relay (4 minutes and 30 seconds)

Brantley Swindell: 13th in the 3200 meter run (11 minutes and 55 seconds)

Caleb Conley: 2nd in the 110 meter hurdles (16.02 seconds)

Caleb Hodges: 5th in the 300 meter hurdles (44.48 seconds), 3rd in high jump (5’10”), 6th in triple jump (38’5.25”)

Jade Bradley: 9th in high jump (5’4”), 8th in long jump (18’11”)

Lake Dasher: 5th in Pole Vault (10’6”), 5th in long jump (19’10.5”)

Joseph MacGregor: 6th in discus (114’10”)

The girls’ team came in 3rd out of 19 teams and the boys came in 5th out of 20 teams.
