Lower School Practices Fire Prevention
The Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA) lower school students, K3-2nd grade, explored the important facts of fire safety this week culminating with a visit from Smokey the Bear, firemen, and a fire truck. The students were rotated to different stations so that each grade learned about all these important facts. This event started at 9:00 a.m. and went until 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 23.
One class started by going to the Lecture Hall for 30 minutes learning about the fire cautions while another class reported to the front of the Main Building to learn about the special equipment used in firefighting. While the students were rotating, Smokey the Bear also came to help with this exciting experience. The students were able to examine the truck and the major parts of the fireman’s job. At the end, the students were able to hold the fire hose and experience how the water works on the job. This event was a very successful experience for the PCA lower school students.
