On February 14, the Lady Patriots went head to head with forever rival the Bulloch Academy Gators in the 2020 region championship game.

The Lady Patriots started strong in the first quarter with a lead of 13-5, but fell behind by the half with a score of 16-18.  Not ready to give up on this game, the girls continued to fight hard for the region title.  Senior Abi Oates said, “During the season, we’ve been through lots of ups and downs, but we never quit working and fighting. Winning 5 in a row is not an easy feat and takes a lot of hard work and effort.”

In the 3rd quarter, the Lady Pats went to the goal for 14 points to recapture the lead with a score of 30-27.  It was do or die for the rival teams in the 4th, but PCA took control and edged past BA.  The Lady Patriots came out with their fifth straight GISA 2AAA Region Championship victory; the final score was 38-36.

“I am so proud of our girls,” stated Head Coach Elizabeth Tatum, “They have worked through adversity throughout the entire season.  The girls work hard every single day no matter what we are doing.  The main thing that we focus on is our love for each other.  At the end of the day, we genuinely love and care for one another.  This region win comes from all of those things working together as one.  God has truly blessed me with such a great group of girls.  I am so thankful to the girls and my assistants for the love and support they have shown me.  These girls have worked hard for their success throughout the years and continue to amaze me every single day.”

A. Oates led in scoring with 13. Following was A. Mills with 10, Ansley Howard 9, E. Oates 4, and Sydney Jernigan 2.

Senior A. Oates said it best, “I am so proud of this team and what we have accomplished, but we are not done yet. I am so excited to see what the next two weeks hold. All Glory to God.”
