Home Ec hosts National Honor Society’s Reception

Mrs. Miriam Porter’s and her home economics classes hosted the annual National and Junior Honors Society reception. Mrs. Porter’s four home Ec classes took part in making hummus and Amish friendship bread for the reception. The students made three types of hummus: roasted red pepper, classic, and Greek. The students in Mrs. Porter’s third period class served the students who were inducted into the National and Junior Honor Society as well as their families. Mrs. Porter explained, “I like their experiences to have a purpose so that when they learn to make things, they can use it to serve others.”
