Environmental Science Article

On November 20, 2015, Wesley Yeomans, with the Georgia Forestry Commission, came to speak to the Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA) A.P. and regular Environmental Science classes about forest management. He talked about forest fires, erosion control, and water and air quality. He pointed out to the students that trees are planted in the cooler months like November through February instead of the spring. He also discussed different effects of different kinds of trees on the environment as well as identifying the fire triangle which consists of fuel, heat, and oxygen. PCA Environmental Science teachers, Mrs. Allison Pollak and Mrs. Angie Whiten, greatly appreciate Mr. Yeomans’ contribution to their curriculum.
