Aaron Lyons Qualifies for Governor’s Honors Interview

By Sydney Strickland, PCA junior

Recently, Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA) junior Aaron Lyons, the 17-year-old son of Pastor Michael and Jillaine Lyons of Claxton, has been given the opportunity to interview for a position in the prestigious Governor’s Honors Program (GHP) held at Berry College in Rome, GA. Out of the five PCA juniors who were nominated and applied, Lyons was the only student selected for an interview. Nominated in the category of singing, Lyons will be able to show off his musical ability once again in front of the GHP panel.

Music and singing has certainly played a big role in Aaron’s life. From starring in the One Act Play to performing with the PCA Praise Team during chapel services, Lyons has demonstrated his skills on multiple platforms. Some of his many honors include being a part of the 2018 GISA 2AAA Literary State Championship quartet and being chosen to perform in the GISA All-Select Band and Chorus for the past two years.

Congratulations to Aaron for continuing on in the GHP selection process!
