Varsity Region Cross Country Meet

The Pinewood varsity cross country team ran their region meet at Trinity Christian Academy. The girls’ team had one top ten runner; Emily Griffin came in 10^th with a time of 24:24. The runners following her were Matalie Miles 11^th (25:02), Riya Patel 17^th (27:04), Madison Shaffer 18^th (27:25), Ally McCall 19^th (27:41), Vivian McLendon 20^th (29:34), and Haley Thompson 23^rd (30:40). The girls placed 4^th overall in the region.

The boys’ team had one runner in the top 10; Brantley Swindell placed 4^th with a time of 19:57. The boys who followed were Nicholas Strickland 11^th (22:11), Haden Belding 12^th (22:21), Trey Kennedy 13^th (22:26), Nathan Scott 14^th (22:33), William Collins 18^th (24:08), and Aaron Lyons 19^th (24:09). The boys placed 2^nd overall, claiming the title of region runner-up for the 2^nd year in a row.
