Sollosi Chapel
By: Kylie Brockman, Senior
The speaker for chapel was Tom Sollosi. His theme for chapel was “Friendship”. The verses he focused on were Proverbs 17:17, Proverbs 17:9, and Romans 5:8. He described that there is only one race which is the human race and we all have our flaws. It can be hard to keep friends when we cannot overlook our own flaws. We should be able to unintentionally offend and hurt our friends or be in need of them, and they would be there without judgement. In return, we should afford them the same forgiveness, support, and unconditional love.
Proverbs 17:9 says that, “He that covereth a transgression seeketh love, but he that repeateth a matter separates himself.” During chapel, Mr. Sollosi was telling us that it’s easy to lose friends, but hard to keep them. If a friend confides in you with something that they may be struggling with, you should keep the matter between you and not share it with others in gossip. A friend is someone who loves you unconditionally and knows how to keep a confidence.
We should commit ourselves to be true friends understanding that our relationships with our friends are a huge reflection of our relationship with God.
