Junior Class on top in Pinewood’s 1st annual powder-puff football tournament

On November 10th, the junior class hosted our first ever powder-puff football tournament. Girls in grades 9-12 had the opportunity to play in the flag football games, and the boys in each grade could be the cheerleaders for their team. The games consisted of two twenty minute halves with a half time in between. The girls in each grade were coached by football players in their grade, and the boys were coached by cheerleaders in their grade.

The first game began at 5:00. Game one was the seniors vs. freshman. Game two was the juniors vs. sophomores. The third game was between the losers of game one and two ( sophomores vs. freshman), and the fourth game was  between the winners of game one and two ( juniors vs. seniors). The Juniors won against the Seniors making them the first PCA powder puff champions.

In addition to the game, the junior class sold t- shirts. The senior class bought black shirts. The junior class bought pink shirts. The sophomore class bought blue shirts, and freshman bought green shirts. Everyone else who bought grey shirts to wear to the game received free admission. This was a successful fundraiser for the junior class and will hopefully continue to be an annual event.
