Pinewood’s STAR Student Honored

On Thursday, February 18, Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA) senior, Lauren Dreggors, was honored at the STAR luncheon hosted by the Claxton Chamber of Commerce. At the luncheon, Lauren was recognized for having the highest SAT score in her class on a single test date and being in the top 10 students of her class based on grade point average. Lauren announced to the audience her choice of STAR teacher who is Mrs. Angie Miller.
Mrs. Miller explained, “It’s a given that teachers are supposed to do more than disseminate information. We are supposed to inspire; we are supposed to encourage; we are supposed to challenge. Sometimes we are lucky enough to bump into a student who inspires us; who encourages us; who challenges us to evaluate and re-evaluate… and Lauren has been one of those students.”
Pinewood is exceptionally proud of Lauren and all of her academic achievements.
