Pinewood celebrates a belated first day of school
By: Haleigh McWilliams, PCA junior
Even though the effects of Hurricane Debby caused PCA to delay its first day, Pinewood opened its doors on Monday, August 12, for the first day of school to begin PCA’s 55th year.
Monday morning, students, family, and faculty gathered for pictures outside each school building, which was decorated with back-to-school lawn signs as backgrounds for their pictures. The upper school front lawn was also decorated with signs for every member of the Class of 2025. The highly anticipated senior walk commenced with the new senior class locked arm in arm and donning backpacks that served as an ode to their childhood and entered the building for their very last first day of school. Shortly after, the senior class left PCA to attend a senior retreat hosted by the Claxton First Church. After they left, the senior parents headed to the parking lot to decorate their senior’s car. The cars were decked out with everything Patriot green, orange, and white, from window paint to balloons, streamers, and so much more.
The PCA family welcomes all of our new students, faculty, and staff, and we are all looking forward to another great year as Pinewood Patriots!
