PCA First Grade Students Celebrate 100th Day of School

At Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA) the 100th day of school is a huge deal for the first grade students. In addition to reading Emily’s First 100 Days of School leading up to the January 28, 2016, the students participated in hands on activities that day. In the morning, the children each brought 100 pieces of cereal and had breakfast together. They also made a caterpillar with 10 circles representing multiples of 10. Finally, they were given 10 types of snacks to sort into piles to show 100 and then mixed them all together to make “100 Day Trail Mix.” First grade teacher Mrs. Haddon said that the children feel that this is a real accomplishment to make it this far in first grade, and that they are 100 days smarter.
